Second Semester Welcome

Hello and welcome to all my second semester classes. This is my blog, where I will from time to time post important information or interesting articles about the world of computers relevant to our courses.

As part of the your communication mark you will be expected to post 2 blogs a week. I will mark them every two weeks. You will write about your experiences in class and the material you are learning.

If you notice over on the right hand side of this post there is a sign up form for my email newsletter. By adding your name and personal email to it , you will receive a weekly email from me reminding you of any upcoming work, test, assignments etc.

Your marks will not be included in the email, but you can get updated marks via First Class.

A couple of reminders to finish off, you must get the course info sheets signed at soon as possible.

Good luck with the course and I hope you find it interesting and rewarding.

As the semester concludes I hope you found the courses interesting and useful. If you are interested in furthering your computer skills I have some other choices below.

If you took ICS2O1... then you may want to continue programming by taking

.... and later
ICS4 (XBOX game development and Flash Games)

If you took IDC3OW... then you may want to continue web design by taking
IDC4OW

Looking just for an computer applications courses but not programming... then try
BTA3O1 (extensive use of all the newest, neatest web apps and techonology.... not just the basic Office Apps)

I hope you have settled into your computer course. Here's a couple of reminders.

Blogs are marked every 2 weeks on Friday's
Remember to keep an indexed notebook for two reasons, its worth marks (marked near midterm and end of year), and you can use it on some tests
Check Edmodo daily for the latest lesson info (video lesson replays) and assigment postings.
Don't have a piece of software at home, check my Cloud Apps site .
Looking for some old tests to help you study goto to my Edublog site.
Keep track of your marks and check for errors on First Class
Find it hard to remember all this or anything else.... sign up for my Mailing list over on the right hand side for weekly reminders.
Need extra help, I am at school by about 7:30 every morning. Come to room 121 up until 8:10 am.

In class final exams are approaching quickly. Below are the specfic dates for each course.

All exams are worth 15% of your final mark. They MUST be written on the days indicated below or a mark of zero will be assigned.

BTA 301 - Thursday May 27 (Practical Computer Test Entirely on WebPage Creation )
ICS 3C - Wednesday May 26 (Totally written at your desk - Study all your Tests)
ICS 3U - Tuesday May 25 (Totally written at your desk - Study all your Tests)

Midterm Reports

Midterm is fast approaching. Notebooks will be marked for all my classes this Thursday April 15.

The key to success is simply showing up to class and trying your best. No one has every failed one of my classes, who follows those simple rules.

For detailed information on upcoming assignments ,tests and current marks, don't forget to check First Class.

Also, remember to check out Edu Blog from time to time for old test postings.

This blog will post information about upcoming tests, assignments and any other relevant info you need to succeed.
